SUB Sea applications and systems from Laseroptronix

SUB Sea systems and sensors . Laseroptronix and our partners offer systems and solutions for sub sea applications. Common for all is that we use electro optical solutions for solving the problems. Lasers and light have some interesting characteristics in water and we have learned what we can do and what we can not do under many years. Normally we use blue green light from lasers or LED for the applications. These colors are the best to penetrate water and to get the best range of the systems. Laseroptronix is now working with new long range sub sea cameras based on active lasers. Spring 2003 we will have a long range camera in a ROV operating in Barents sea for fauna studies.

Now we are active in 2 larger projects. One is a high accuracy laser scanner for up to 3000 meter in depth. The other is a new solution to detect explosives on the sea bottom. In the oceans there are many war memories which must be removed.

Argus camera system for penetration of turbid and bad water. This unique system see through the particle barrier and admits a far larger operation volume than normal camera systems. Aquaview is best in very murky waters where the see though characteristics are best. For longer ranges the range gated cameras are preferred.

Info about Argus camera.

Sub sea camera systems
SubSeaCam under water camera for max 100 meter depth. LED lamps and solid brass design. Color camera with high image quality. Attractive price level. More information.
Aquaproof under water camera system with color capability and integrated LED illumination. Low level image is B/W and it operates in zero light levels with super VHS quality. Max depth 30 meter. More about Aquaproof camera system
Dynaview active pixel camera. Unique active pixel CCD camera for extreme low levels of light. Admit operation at large depth with no extra illumination. This is the perfect ROV camera for dark sea applications. More VHS image quality in black and white. Dynaview data sheet.
Aquaview cameras made in Sweden and with an operating depth of over 100 meter. 0,05 Lux sensitivity and 420 TV lines resolution to a realistic price level. More about Aquaview sub sea under water cameras
Sub sea with Dynaview
Deep sea camera with actively cooled CCD array and high resolution. Operates to 3000 meter in depth and with fiber optic communication to surface.
Intensified camera systems for ROV and sub sea applications. These cameras have intensifiers of gen 1 , 2 , 2+ or Hypergen style. We can offer unique LED illumination integrated into these cameras. Used in Argus see through camera system More about intensified ICCD camera systems
SubSea Box cam system is a square camera system for operation to 50 meter in depth. The camera is very sensitive and we can deliver cables etc. to the system. More information
Light is absorbed in water in a different way to air. Here is a PDF file showing what is happening and how much is absorbed. Graphics of light absorption in water PDF File

Interested in sub sea lamps. The LED lamps gives very unique performance

Paravan camera systems is a new way to map and make under water imaging and photos. This unique system is towed under the boat with a wire up to surface. The balanced wings makes it pressed down and keeping it horizontal. Speed range is zero to 2-3 knots with very good stability and balance. Cameras and illuminations systems makes continuos videos of the sea bottom. DGPS and navigation systems makes the position known and the result is a globally positioned video of what is down there. THis type of cameras are very efficient to search and map larger areas in a short time. Images can be processed as a sub sea mosaic.
Gated viewing laser cameras are active cameras using strobed green laser light to get the best range. The pulsed laser light is strobed at speed of light in flight by a pulsed image intensifier tube at nano second time accuracy. This makes it possible to see specific areas in distance in front of the camera and to darken what is out of this area. Range can be 3-5 times any ordinary high quality camera as particles in front of target area disappears.
Laser Dolphin Sub sea 3D scanner and camera unit. This highly advanced system is a combination of a large heavy duty paravan system with internal sub sea laser radar system and a gated laser camera. The high operating speed of up to 6 knots makes this very suitable for large area works and search and find applications. More about Laser Dolphin sub sea camera system
Laser modems for long range under water communication. These laser based sub sea modems are based on a green 532 nm laser and advanced electronics and sub noise level detection algorithms. More about sub sea laser modems.
Laser photocells for detection of intruders or events under the surface. These green laser based systems are similar to the modems but have an on and off click function. These systems can be used for detecting intruders sub sea close to critical buildings and places.
New products Sub Sea laser radar system for 3D mapping of sub sea areas and installations. This highly sophisticated system is now started in production in our factory for off shore applications. Laserdolphin use a laser radar to scan a surface and make a 3D terrain model of the area. Synchronized cameras can make an image draped over the 3D terrain model. This fast and accurate documentation of large sub sea areas and installations is unique and offer large advantages over yesterdays technology.

Contrast enhancement unit is a black box added on a PAL / Camera signal cable. It process video data in real time by a special hard ware solution. Contrast is enhanced in a dramatic way and all videos appear far better and more visible. What eye can not imagine is there can suddenly be clearly visible. This device is already in operation on a substantial number of ROV units.

Laseroptronix is involved in a project to develop a ROV and sensor package for detecting buried explosives at sea bottom. Here we use several sensors like Gamma spectroscopy and 3D magnetometers. Laser radar is used for navigation.

We are involved in making a new type of 3D magnetometers and metal detectors. They can be used sub sea as well on land based applications like bomb and mine detection. UXO applications are one area of applications.
