LaserSnap can detect a walking person crossing a border line at up to 4000 meter in range in prism mode. When we use the system and use the non reflex mode but have a beam stop we can see a person at 500 meter in distance. When we point the system out in nowhere with no beam stop we can see a person at 200-300 meter in most applicatons. Last function admits a beam straight out over a water surface and then see someone coming and passing the line

Following models are available

• Lasersnap LS500 range 500 meter and +- 1 meter accuracy in diffuse reflex mode and 1000 meter if there is a prism at far end.
• Lasersnap LS300 range 300 meter and 0.1 meter accuracy + high speed ( 1 milisec ) in diffuse reflex mode and 4000 meter with a glass prism at far end

Range is shorter if there is no special reflex and then we use the target by the natural reflex which is low compared to a prism or reflex tape which gives better reflexes and longer ranges. Always it is preferable to have a beam stop at far end and that the system is locked to the beam stop. When something come in-between the alarm is activated. Reflexes do admit sensing over longer range than the eye can see in fog and bad weather.

• Max recommended operation distance in rail road applications 50% less of spec range as there is so much dirt in the air and other disturbances.
