Miniscan compact airborne laser radar system for UAV applications

Miniscan series of low weight laser radar systems are optimized for UAV applications where dimensions and weight is a key issue. It is an open frame OEM system easy to integrate into many applications. The simple and straight design is also cost efficient and this opens door for applications that was not possible earlier.
Features of miniscan laser radar systems
  • Low weight of 2,5-3 Kg in an open frame design
  • Range from 300-1000 meter depending on components used
  • Accuracy 5 cm in distance
  • First and last pulse technology so we can get 2 points per shot
  • Speed from 1000 Hz to 36 KHz depending on components used
  • Pointing accuracy 0.1 degree
  • Swat width up to 70 degree
  • Scanning speed up to 20 profiles per sec
  • Power consumption typically 50 W
  • Diode based laser distance meter operating at 905 nm
  • Beam divergence 1,8 mRad
  • Output USB or optional Ethernet
  • System have a specially designed FPGA processing unit to get exact timing of laser pulses versus angles.
Miniscan have a carbon fiber structure and oscillating mirror design.

Laser is a class 1 or 3B depending on components and how it is operated.

Output is a USB with time stamping and angles and distance values in a string. This comes out in a spread sheet style.
