Gyroview binocular system

When going at high speed with a small boat it is very difficult to get a good image from a standard binocular system. The movements and vibrations makes it very difficult to see what is demanded to see. At small magnifications like 3X to 7 X it is still difficult to see in a good way. For many high speed boats it is a need to stop the boat completely and then look in the binocular . This is still very difficult and gives a short detection range for small objects .In many cases it is unrealistic to stop to zero speed just to see what is needed to see.
In a comparison test at a high speed boat ( 40+ knots) the standard marine binocular did give a detection range on small arm sized objects in the water of less 100 m when sea was rough. The Gyroview gave under parallel test a range of about 500 m equal to a 5 doubles range of detection.
At zero speed the image was less good at the standard binocular than what the Gyroview gave at 40 knots at rough sea. The difference was amazing.
Some vibration damped systems were compared and the difference is large in marine applications. This system have one more axis of freedom and this is very important. The gyro gives a far better accuracy than a passive system.

Why do all qualified platforms with cameras for marine surveillance use a gyro stabilized system ?

Features of Gyroview binocular system.
  • Gyro stabilized binocular system in waterproof encapsulation
  • 12 000 rpm mechanical gyro platform
  • 16 x 40 high quality optics
  • Large magnification admitts long distance viewing with a detailed image
Gyro stabilized binocular system shall not be compared with passive damped systems used by some competitors. Gyro stabilization is the only way to really fulfill the demands for professionals working on the sea. Tests made by professional users show that this is the solution for marine application.
GyroView is already in use in Sweden for police helicopters, marine aviation, high speed patrol boats and many other small and high speed boats. Also in small low speed boats the GyroView is very useful as such boats also have similar problems to see from a moving platform.
12X is a large magnification and it is difficult to aim at this high magnification. This system does give more clear images than a traditional 7X binocular can have a chance to do.

Gated viwing laser camera systems

For marine search and rescue the Gated viewing technology is by far the best when it is twilight or dark. This technology makes penetration of dust, rain and snow possible and it operates in total darkness as well as twilight. This is not possible by ordinary night vision devices

Price idea about USD 45 000 in complete marine version
