Surveillance of airfield areas is very difficult as areas are very large and there are obstacle and interfering installations making traditional cameras more or less useless. At night time this is worse and often larger areas are unattended by security staff as problems are too large.

LanLynx systems from Laseroptronix gives a really large step ahead of what is used today. We use laser light as illumination and this is strobed into short pulses. The pulses are grabbed in its flight at predetermined distances and by this we can select where to see and where not to see as a distance relation. The strobed light makes it possible to penetrate better than any other camera and by this we get a factor 3-5 to ant normal high quality night vision camera.

Lan Lynx cameras are doing the job of an intensified camera system but far better as it can resist lamps in the filed of view. It do also operate at the blue hours and evenings and dawn. In comparison with thermal cameras the image is very sharp and independent of temperature of object. Masking systems for thermal cameras are not fooled by this system. None can hide its 3D shape.

Ranges up to 10 km are available but deviations if field of view do often limit the distances to 1000-3000 meter. In these areas we can see man sized objects in the shadowed areas close by forests and objects trying to hide in a far better way than any alternative way. The pure 3D viewing makes image analyze by software possible and suddenly reliable.
Image of a man on a small road between trees. Range is about 150 meter. Sky is slightly white so normal goggles do only see the sky and outer surface of the vegetation. Lan Lynx see through and in-between and the man normally hidden for modern electronics is easy to see. Normal goggles did not see the man at all.

The gap illuminated is about 15 meter and to left there are trees at same distance as the man. If vegetation is in front of the man we can still see him if coverage is less 90 %

These images can be memorized and new images with changes can be compared and analyzed. Automatic alarms are possible this way.
Tree 200 meter away. At right there are some trees in front of this tree and they gives black shadows over the white tree. We have detected people inside forests 500 meter away where vegetation cowers over 50% of the surface. Still we could see the man and when he moved the arms this was possible to see.

None can hide its 3D shape and this effect is used by the LanLynx systems. Masking nets and camouflage do not help at all. In many cases they makes all worse.
MiniLynx is a hand held short range model based on gated laser technology. It operates to 300 meter in distance. This system is ideal for portable operation and can be carried bu watch man and security staff.
