• The distance meter have measured the distance to the surface of the road
• The scale factor of the camera is known
• From this the scale in meter in each pixel is calculated
• From this the nr of pixels multiplied with scale factor gives the distance in the image
• This makes it possible to measure in the image just by clicks.
• If road is very topographic we prefer to have a laser scanner as it gives a complete and correct terrain profile

This is good for traffic analyze and road maintenance at winter time when snow can disturb the traffic.
