| GeoMapper is an airborne solution working with cameras , laser distance meters, GPS navigation, inertial sensors and a smart data base suited to generate measurable spatial data and information over roads in use and preliminary designs of new roads. The system is normally operated at an altitude of 50 to 200 m an a speed of between 30 and 150 Km per hour from a helicopter. The main system is designed to be mounted in the safety belts of a seat. There is a small gimbal with the cameras , laser distance meter and inertial navigation system mounted under the front of the helicopter. The GPS antenna is mounted on the top of the fuselage . The outputs are videos/ images with geographical located pixels and a 3D flat projection plan produced by the laser distance meter readings. This system is optimized for relatively flat areas where topography is not too deviated. Deviations of 20-30 degree at max 10 meter horizontally over the image plane gives relatively small errors in any of the pixels. The very high resolution of the cameras gives far more details and information than traditional surveying with a total station and this makes the generated outputs more suitable for many applications than the old technology .Geomapper will be a future solutions for many operators and gives a far better general information to a much lower cost than any alternative. New solutions last years make it possible to make this system for speeds of over 200 000 points per second with a range up to 1000 meter in altitude. Accuracy is about 5 cm and we have first and last pulse technology. |
