GeoMapper, the airborne 3D laser mapper and geomatics system
GeoMapper system under a Bell Jet Ranger 206 during flights tests in Sweden.

Here the system is the large variant with 4000 measurements per sec in global 3D coordinates. The GeoMapper is mounted on a modified hook mount which makes the installation fast and easy

Total installation time in a new Jet Ranger is less 1 hour except the DGPS antenna arrangement of 2 antennas

The unit is the aluminum colored parts under the helicopter
Inside the cower of the GeoMapper system there is lots of parts. Here you see two cameras with calibrated mounts. You see scanner motor and the pulse encoder. The yellow boxes are the 4 laser altimeters / rangefinders.

All this have a protection cower when operated.
Inside a Jet Ranger 206 we operate the system from the back seat. It needs the two middle seats and operator is sitting beside the system. One man is needed for operation and none is sitting beside the pilot .

On right two screens for digital cameras showing the real time video stored.

Laying is the PC monitor with all operating controls.

Under the monitor is the main on board PC system with DGPS system and all electronics.
