| 3 D cameras can be read out of the geometry in the camera is known and the distance to the target is known. Then the scale constant can be read out and measurements can be done in absolute scales in the image if the projection plan is flat. These aerial aviation cameras have a laser altimeter and the cameras integrated into a solid piece. The design is totally 100% aviation approved and certification jobs are released soon.
Laseroptronix have a solution for this where the two photos on this page show one version we are making for aerial photography. This system is designed for integration into an external encapsulation and is designed to fulfill the authority demands of aircraft. One laser distance meter with a range of 300-400 meter gives the distance to the target area. Here two cameras are aligned with the laser distance meters beam . One camera is a tele optic camera with a small field of view of about 20 degree. The other camera is a large field of view camera with about 70 degree field of view. These units are mounted on a carefully designed mount and calibrated to be parallel to infinity. The mount is very strong and can handle a lot of hard handling and vibrations. In a PC system the distance meter is read out and the images can be stored . Each image have its own distance and scale. As options we have all the software , DGPS for the position and PC with software. Price of the camera system as showed at top of this page is about USD 9000 complete. |
