 The illuminated rock face is easily marked with spray direct on the white dots on the rock wall. This saves a lot of time compared to not use a projector.
The pattern can be aligned to a tunnel laser spot. The scale of the pattern is set by a scale or by the use of 2 pcs of tunnel laser beams where pattern is aligned with the zoom optics to fit booth spots at the same time. This makes scale correct.  This image is a fake with the projector and the pattern behind it. The pattern is done on a dia projector holder and is done by a special technique giving high accuracy and no distortion by the heat of the lamp. The lithography behind this gives very dark areas compared to normal negative films and good transparency where it is needed.
