The guider 140 is always used with a scale or stick where the level is viewed as a mirror image through the mirror assembly. The image is reflected back and the place where the horizon is easily viewed at the scale. The function is very simple and is based on a mirror hanging in a joint which is self leveling. This makes the mirror surface always vertical. There are no settings except a rough leveling with tree screws under the bottom plate.
The instrument fits on standard tripods with the 5/8 UNC thread used on most theodelites world wide. A unique feature is that several workers can use the system at the same time without any expensive detector systems. One stick with a mark by a pencil or tape is enough at up to 30 m in radius from the instrument. This mark have been added to a shovel in some cases as worker anyway use the shovel all the time. There is no extra heavy, expensive , battery operated stuff needed to start to do the job. |
