Laser radar LRD 60-300 for airport surveillance and detection
LRD 60 is a 60 degree field of view laser radar unit made for detection of obstacles or 3D shapes in specific areas on air ports. The laser radar technology have many advantages over other solutions and is often far better in specifications as well as better priced. LRD sensors works in all types of ambient light and can see all types of objects. All from the legs of a walking intruder to a Jumbo jet can be detected and classed by shape and size.

This activated an alarm output based on fail safe technology.

Ladar LRD 60 is an obstacle detection system designed to see people walking or laying at long range on an air field strip. The unique characteristics only possible to get by a laser radar design makes it possible to pin point out the small surface of any type of dangerous obstacle. LRD 180 system with a larger 180 degree scanned area is an alternative. The non influence of object color and ambient light makes this system very universal. Several systems can be added together and cower large areas. This makes it possible to solve area checking problems on large areas today covered by ground radar systems.

This technology is the only available system based on optics which is fail safe according to EN regulations and demands. Radar and inductive systems have not been able to fully meet the hard requirements for fail safe operation. This system is very suitable for checking specific areas at airports and reporting what is going on there. Collision avoidance in ground navigation is a problems LRD 60 can handle in a simple and cost efficient way.
