Obstacle detection by laser radar
Laser radar systems are very good for obstacle detection on airfields
These systems are developed and manufactured by us in Sweden and is in operation in several application areas like rail road security and detection of persons in forbidden areas. Laser radar systems can detect by 3D shape and contrast and ambient light is without effect of reliability and range of detection. 3D analyze makes it possible to sort out different types of happenings. We can see pedestrians in areas but not cars and things like this. Intruders can be detected as none can mask a 3D shape and volume. This improves safety against no alarm. The obstacle detecting laser radar can send an image to security staff when there is something with the preset alarm shape. This reduce false alarms a lot. There is no demand in sitting and watching a screens for hours. This can be automatic and when the monitor is on there is something to look at.
Applications of obstacle and presence detection systems at airports.
  • Detection of aircrafts at stop positions to confirm correct position
  • Detection of aircrafts at runways etc. where they shall not be / obstacle alarm / aircraft detector
  • Detection of intruders and other pedestrians in specific areas
  • Detection of low flying aircrafts and birds in the air
  • Shape detection of aircrafts for classification purpose of model and confirmation of identity
  • Detecting car movements on runways to service staff etc.
  • Detecting of walking people close to parked aircrafts on ground
  • Detection of animals on runways etc. Moose detection alarm.
