Stop position directing laser radar system LRS 60-200
LRS 60-200 os a laser radar system used to measure the stop position of aircrafts when stopping at high accuracy at gates at airports as well as other stop positions. The laser radar unit scanns along a vertical line and find the position of the radome . This is put into a coordinate system where the stop position is zero. LRS 60-200 laser radar system gives the needed outputs to find the distance remaining to the stop position. The red lines shows the scanned area of the laser radar unit. LRS 60-200 laser radar system is a non contact system to measure stop position and remaining distance to the desired stop point of an aircraft on ground at low speed region. This technology is the only available system based on optics which is fail safe according to rail road regulations and demands. Radar and inductive systems have not been able to fully meet the hard requirements by rail road authorities. They can never be fail safe.
